IWC PILOT’S WATCHES LE PETIT PRINCE COLLECTION
The “Le Petit Prince” special edition timepieces with their trademark blue dials commemorate the literary work of the author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, whose wonderful story “The Little Prince” is one of the best-selling books in literary history.
The perpetual calendar designed in the early 1980s by Kurt Klaus comprises around 80 parts and independently recognizes the various lengths of the months and leap years. It will require no readjustment until 2100. The date, day, month, moon phase and year displays are perfectly synchronized with each other. If the watch has not been worn for some time, it can be reset merely by turning the crown. The IWC-manufactured 89630 calibre combines the perpetual calendar with a chronograph function. The calendar's moon phase display is integrated with the chronograph totalizer at "12 o'clock". This complicated Pilot's Watch is housed in an 18-carat 5N gold case. The special edition designed to honour "Le Petit Prince" features the typical midnight blue dial and is limited to just 250 watches.
